Kurosaki runs a local clinic along with his family. Hollow, a hungry and anguished spirit changes Ichigo’s life, when it attacks Ichigo, and his two sisters. Kurosaki meets Kuchiki Rukia, a Shinigami (Death God) who aids him and also his sisters.

Rukia follows Hollow and comes to know that Kurosaki can see her and the Hollow. Kuchiki Rukia got injured during the fight against Hollow and transferred her powers to Ichigo
